Productive? No. Fun? Maybe....

In a nice atempt to not do any work today I decided to take a trip into Bath. Needed to pay some money into my bank but there isn't a Lloyds TBC on campus... Oh well, so I dragged Chris and his girlfriend Amy (pretty sure I walked in just as they were about to get 'friendly'.....) along with me. Bwahahaha!

On our travels we happened across a chocolate shop with a restaurant. What a find! One hot chocolate each later we set off again.

Next we headed for Fopp. Think HMV but you know. actually sells good music. Seriously, I could spend a fortune in there. Tempted as I was to buy Phobia (by Breaking Benjamin) or a Hammerfall album I decided to get United (by Dream Evil) partly because it was cheaper and special limited edition version. And I love Dream Evil like I love beer, in pint form.

Also swung by Waitrose and picked up some food that wasn’t pasta. Shocking I know. Got some frying steaks, chicken breasts, some Hob Nobs and a pizza. Had the pizza for dinner tonight, too lazy to cook anything more complex.

It appears that I have found some old friends from Dubai College on Facebook. Made friends with Henry, now to find the rest of them.

Looks like most of them are lurking in Nottingham. Was one of choices actually Nottingham but I came to Bath instead.

Hope I can met you guys at some point.

Uni News

Strange I haven't made a post about Uni yet...

Fresher's Week was awesome fun, well from what I can remember it was anyway. Got drunk 5 nights out of the 6. Literally slept for the entire day that I didn't get hammered. Favourite nights where the pub crawl (don't think I've been that drunk ina long time) and the Toga Party, never has there been such blatant disregard for bed sheets.

As for the actual lectures; I have loads of free time it's unbelievable. Ok, so Monday and Thursday are pretty much fully booked up with lectures but I all of Tuesday and Wednseday afternoon off as well as all of Friday morning. Yay for me. However, I do have an 8:15am lecture on Monday ont he other god damn side of campus... god damn it.....

Now for the people that I have to live with. They're a fairly decent bunch of fuckers I must say. Tails and Chris (Rees, I live with three people by the name of Chris) are some pretty decent blokes. Guilliame (or Frechie as the others call him because , shock horror, he's french)
is cool too. Two of the Chris's are also doing Physics so yay for me.

We got an on campus 'local shop' as it were which sells most anything good. Regular deals on alcohol which is always good, like £5 for 8 cans of strongbow. Bargain. Which is a point, need to get some bread, bacon and milk tomorrow. Maybe.

Started my first lab project (bacially the same thing as coursework). I got Chauchy's Formula for Refective Index, fun for the whole family no doubt. Using nout but a table spectrometer, two prisms and 1 each of sodium, mercury and cadmium discharge lamps me and my main man Alex have to work out the contants A and B in the following formula: n=A+B/(λ²) where n is the refractive index of a material and λ is the wavelength of light going through the material.

Anyway, that pretty much cover it for now. I'm too lazy too write anymore....

Gaming Update

Next, to the gaming side of things. Beware, this will be a long one (that's what he said *wink wink*).

Firstly and most obviously. Time for a rant about World of Warcraft - The Burning Crusade. Let me start by saying 'ZOMFG! I want it now!'. Not too long to wait though, official release date is the 16th of January 2007 which is probably right in the middle or at the begining of the January exams. Wish I could have been one of the lucky bastards that got to play the closed beta... Can't wait to get it, I preordered my Collector's Edition (yeah, that's right) not too long ago. Gonna sting my wallet at £45 but it will be worth it. Especially for the Netherhelp Pet. Rant over (for now).

Both Company of Heroes and Dawn or War - Dark Crusade where released reasonably recently. Both I had planned to pick up a copy of but never got round to it probably because I was too involved in WoW and I'm too lazy to go all the way into town to get them. Might see about getting them for Christmas...

A new trailer for Hellgate: London has been released (find it here). Damn this game looks amazing. In the words of the developers: 'Diablo crossed with Half-Life, set in London'. I've not played Diablo or Diablo 2 (yet another game I need to get) but I can't wait for this game. Just check out the screenie:

Battlefield 2142 was realised recently as well. Initially I didn't want to get it because I have BF2 and EA can suck my nut sack. Twice. But having played the demo on my brothers PC (needless to say I pwned) I think it's same to say I am convinced otherwise. Yet another game I might pick up for Christmas.

And finally, my Steam is fucked up and I really can't be arsed to reinstall it, download and then update all my games I had on it.

That's all the game news for now peeps.

PC Update

First update will be about me rig. To be brutally honest it's really starting to piss me off.

I'm pretty sure that either my hard drive, PSU or Windows it teh fooked. Random BSOD's and freeezing on start up which means it can take more than an hour.

Also, rapidly running out of hard drive space (oh noes!). On,ly have about 20-30Gb left. Depsite the fact that I had a good clear out and out install a load of games I don't really play anymore (so pretty much everything but WoW.... ) and deleted and load of unimportant files in My Documents.

Holy crap...

I haven't updated this mother fucker is ages.... again....

Time for not one, not two but a whole series of updates Yay!
